Glen Plake – Bump Like Glen Plake
It’s the season you want to learn how to ski bumps, once and for all. Welcome to Bump Like Glen Plake, an instructional video series in which legendary skier and mogul master Glen Plake holds your hand (or at least, teaches you what to do with your hands) through the bumps.
You’ll Learn
- How and when to plant your poles in bumps (and that pole plants are non-negotiable)
- How to execute short-swing turns, like a good Austrian ski instructor
- Where to turn in moguls (spoiler: it’s not in the ruts)
- How to control your speed in moguls (while still ripping)
- How to get loose and add Hot Doggin’ flair to your mogul skiing
Featured Lessons
- Lesson 4: Moving Your Body Through a Mogul Line
- Lesson 8: Controlling Your Speed Through Moguls
- Lesson 13: Skiing the Fall Line
YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Glen Plake
Glen Plake is a skier who needs little introduction. You know him as the mohawked hot dogger who first gained notoriety for crushing bumps in Greg Stump’s 1988 classic ski film, “The Blizzard of Aahhhh’s.” Glen’s professional skiing career spans more than four decades and began when he made the U.S. Ski Team’s mogul team, which he promptly left to pursue a career skiing for the silver screen where skiing wasn’t so prescriptive. But in 2012, skiing’s most famous rebel earned his full certification from the Professional Ski Instructors of America, making him one of the most famous ski instructors in America, and certainly one of the zaniest.
