Jessica Schleider – Little Treatments Big Effects: Single-Session Interventions That Create Lasting Change
SalePage
Despite progress in the identification of effective mental health interventions, up to 80% of people with mental health needs go without services each year. Even among those who do access care, many drop out prematurely, and few receive evidence-based interventions. Thus, there is a need for scalable psychological interventions—especially programs deliverable beyond brick-and-mortar clinics and via nontraditional means to maximize accessibility. This recording will introduce the latest research targeted, single-session interventions for mental health problems in youths and adults. Given their low-cost, brevity, and flexible delivery format, SSIs hold especially high potential for disseminability. Evidence supporting the promise of SSIs will be presented, along with walkthroughs of web-based and clinician-delivered SSIs designed to reduce distress and increase receptivity to mental health treatment in those in need of care.
